At The Sloop we have excellent beer, good food, welcoming bar staff who are interested in their customers, and a beautiful garden.
The pub is set in glorious countryside along side the River Ouse on the routes of rambling walks through woods and fields and close to the Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park and the picturesque villages of Lindfield and Horsted Keynes. In the spring the bluebells fill the woods and primroses bloom on the verges. After a walk you can relax in our large garden and enjoy a pint of Harveys or a glass of good wine. In the winter, you can head inside to the log fires and cosy bar for something to eat. For something more formal, try the elegant dining room.
This is a proper family pub where you are equally welcome to pop in for a drink or coffee, a snack or a full meal. It’s a great place for a family Sunday roast. Locals congregate in the bar and the conversation can range from farming to steam locos to music of all genres. Dogs are welcome in the bar areas and we pour pints and dispense dog biscuits with equal enthusiasm!
We have a regular quiz night, a fish night every Thursday and many special events. Burns Night is always a hoot as ex-pat Scots take over the event. There’s always something happening and our three chefs create diverse menus complimented by craft and guest ales and range of wines from around the world.
If you prefer to drive to the pub, we have a large car park and easy access for wheelchair users.
Do come and visit soon.
